India-based NephroLife Care has opened its new dialysis unit at Excelcare Hospital in Bangalore.

The centre consists of eight dialysis stations, an individual suite for VIP dialysis, computerised laboratory, digital radiology and an intensive care unit, reports Pharmabiz.

The unit also contains a water purification system with an endotoxin filter, which eliminates bacterial impurities from the dialysis fluid, an automated artificial kidney cleaning system, and a computerised dialysis monitoring system.

Nephrolife founder and managing director Shriram Vijaykumar said the opening of dialysis unit is expected to improve the quality of life of renal patients.

Plans are also underway to introduce the online HD filtration for the first time in Bangalore, and also to start a live related donor kidney transplant programme.
