The $360m facility will contain of 20 additional operating room suites, 60 medical beds, 56 neonatal intensive care unit beds and 30 adult intensive care unit beds.
The new facility is expected to be completed in 2013.

“Our expansion will provide us with the expanded bed capacity and state-of-the-art facilities necessary to meet the growing health care needs of this region.”
In October 2010, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development agreed to insure a mortgage loan for Albany Medical Center for $322m through its Federal Housing Administration’s Section 242 Hospital Mortgage Insurance Program.
