Florida Hospital has become the first US hospital to implement Roche Diagnostics’ automated solution to help laboratories increase their testing capacity and deliver reliable results with greater efficiency.
The automated system allows patient blood samples to pass through the testing process untouched by human hands, and will handle the majority of the laboratory tests run by the hospital.
It combines the cobas 8000 modular analyser series, the cobas p 701 post-analytical unit, and the Roche/Hitachi modular pre-analytics sample handling system, is designed to ensure reliable and consistent results for repeat testing.
Patrick O’Sullivan, laboratory director at Florida Hospital Orlando , said the automated system ensures high levels of productivity and workflow, and standardises test results across all Florida hospital systems.
