Researchers at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan, have developed a blood test to diagnose depression.
A study conducted by the medical research group Human Metabolome Technologies, involving 66 people, concluded that patients with depression had a lower concentration of ethanolamine phosphate.
According to the study, the test could help improve early detection rates of depression by measuring the concentration of phosphoric acid in the blood.
