Emit Corporation has received US Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance for its HypothermX HX100 device.

HX100 is designed to warm intravenous fluids, blood or blood products to be infused into patients to prevent or treat trauma and hypothermia.

Heating is achieved using a flameless hydrocarbon combustion process.

Emit Corporation CEO and chairman said that HX100 is the first lightweight, portable and long-term solution to offer actual therapeutic warming in the field for injured patients.
