Fremantle Hospital will become the first hospital in Western Australia to receive a web-based patient administration system, under the state's eHealth reform programme.

The Western Australia Department of Health announced a $6.3m deal with Computer Sciences Corporation to intriduce its webPAS solutiion in two hospitals, reports itnews.

The installation is expected to complete by March 2012.

The webPAS software will facilitate patient flow management, scheduling, ambulatory care, admission discharge transfer, patient indexing and billing, clinical coding and information management.

The solution will also provide clinicians and staff with up-to-date patient records.
