New York's Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center will deploy a new Emergency Department Information System (EDIS) to help staff improve patient care.

The Wellsoft EDIS will replace the hospital's existing manual system in the hope of making the emergency department more efficient.

The system offers documentation templates, real-time chart availability and better communication, aimed at reducing the hospital's unnecessary costs and errors.

The EDIS will be integrated with the hospital's existing HL7-compliant systems that include laboratory, radiology and billing systems.
