US Cardinal Health Foundation, which works towards improving the quality of healthcare across the country, has granted $1m to 35 hospitals and health clinics supporting creative programmes to enhance patient safety.

The funds are aimed at improving medication safety and reducing healthcare-associated infections through a number of programmes to address the National Quality Forum's priority areas.
