The St Louis VA Medical Center in the US will deploy a real-time location information system (RTLS) for better management of its growing patient population.

The two-division, tertiary care facility, which has more than 200 hospital beds, will install Versus Technology’s systems in its outpatient eye clinic and operate room tracking.

The RTLS will display the real-time location of patients and staff, automate and display staff-to-patient assignments, reduce manual data entry and provide key performance indicators such as patient wait times, the company said.

The centre will also be able to collect past data on patient visits, patient and staff interactions, and volume through a custom reporting mechanism.
