Medical staff in the UK's National Health Service (NHS) will now be able to view data comparing their personal performance with more than 200 indicators of high-quality care, aimed at improving the treatment of patients.

The data, made available by the UK Department of Health and the NHS Information Centre, will be used to evaluate quality improvement at various NHS organisations.

The Indicators for Quality Improvement, developed with the help of the Royal Colleges, are based on existing national indicator sets and data collections.
