New York's Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) will deploy digital medical imaging systems for its new digital orthopaedic X-ray suite for better care and productivity.

ECMC will implement Carestream Health's Directview DR 7500 systems to facilitate efficient acquisition, distribution and storage of patient medical images.

The DR systems are expected to improve communications among medical staff, ECMC said.

The single and dual-detector configured systems provide flexibility for a variety of general radiography examinations with greater convenience and patient comfort, Carestream said.

ECME is a regional centre for trauma, burn and cardiac care.
