The Australian Government will provide a grant of A$46.9m to the Ingham Health Research Institute for the construction of a multifaceted research facility to be built on the Liverpool Hospital campus.

The four-storey Ingham Health Research Institute will be connected to the hospital and existing research facilities.

It will have a research linear accelerator integrated within the Cancer Therapy Centre and a Clinical Skills Centre that will translate research findings into clinical practice, the government said.

The facility is expected to enable co-location of health research groups currently spread across the south west of Sydney.
