The Australian Government has announced it is to build a another new GP Super Clinic in the Australian state of Victoria.

The clinic to be built in South Morang will employ 12 GPs and offer privately and publicly provided primary care services, the government said.

The statement follows 17 August's announcement of an A$4.9m project in Portland, also in the state of Victoria.

Existing community health services for youth counselling, drug and alcohol, chronic disease management, dental and mental health services will be moved to the new clinic.

The centre, to be run by a consortium led by the Northern Division of General Practice, will also provide preventative health services such as life coaching, health promotion and physical activity programmes.
