Phoenix Children's Hospital in the US state of Arizona has implemented a computerised physician order entry (CPOE) system across its organisation to save time and reduce the number of paper orders in the hospital's system.

Eclipsys' Sunrise Acute Care solution provides Phoenix's medical staff with fully integrated clinical workflows for better clinical outcomes, care efficiency and turnaround time, Eclipsys said.

Doctors and other authorised clinical staff at Phoenix have adopted the enterprise-wide technology, with 99% of them placing their medication and non-medication orders electronically.

Phoenix Children's Hospital is Arizona's only licensed children's hospital, providing services in more than 40 paediatric specialities.
