The US Government has awarded a $1.2m grant to the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Foundation to continue the state-level Health Information Exchange (SL-HIE) Consensus Project.

The one-year grant was awarded by the US Department of Health and Human Services Office to advance HIE adoption, planning and implementation across the nation.

The programme is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which requires states to improve health and healthcare delivery through HIE, AHIMA said.
