Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health has warned private hospitals and clinics against falsely claiming to have lab facilities to test H1N1 influenza or possess the vaccine to prevent the virus.

The warning was issued after reports that some private hospitals and clinics claimed to have anti-H1N1 vaccine and diagnostic capabilities, Arab News reports.

No private healthcare facility in the region has such lab facilities or the vaccine, the government said.

The government has also set up special fax numbers for the general public to report such false claims by private healthcare centres, the news agency reports.
