The Premier healthcare alliance, a network of over 2,200 US hospitals, will implement a mobile healthcare information technology (HIT) solution to improve obstetrical (OB) care.

AirStrip's OB solution provides obstetricians and nurses with real-time, remote access to foetal and maternal waveform data, such as foetal heart rate and maternal contractions.

This information can be accessed on mobile devices using mobile phones, improving patient safety and communication among caregivers, AirStrip said.

The solution provides hospital staff with critical data such as the latest nursing notes, vital signs and order results from the hospital labour and delivery unit, the company said.
