The 75,000m² multi-storeyed hospital will have 200 beds, a residential section for nursing staff, a theatre for obstetrics and rooms for physicians, Aswat Al Iraq reports.

The project in the al-Madina district is being financed by a Japanese grant, officials from the Basra Provincial Council said.
