Samaritan Hospital in the US state of Ohio has implemented a voice and data connectivity infrastructure across its acute care facilities.

The wireless technology will support Voice over IP telephony and networked medical devices across its seven locations.

Siemens Enterprise Communications Group's HiPath Wireless portfolio provides a reliable and cost-effective communications platform to hospital staff, enabling them to deliver better quality of care.

The network supports medical devices such as Dräger wireless heart monitors and ensures critical information is prioritised over non-patient monitoring data on the network, Siemens said.
