Laos will build its first children’s hospital with a $3.5m grant given by South Korea.

The hospital, to be built in Vientiane, will be equipped with 160 beds and 200 medical staff, according to the Vientiane Times.

The facility, to be complete in October 2010, is expected to help the country reduce child mortality and meet the health-related Millennium Development Goals.
