The Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital in Dublin, Ireland has formally opened its new isolation unit.

The €3.2m unit will serve patients with bone and joint infections as well as those at risk of developing such infections, according to the Irish Medical Times.

The facility has air control features that enable the treatment of these patients in isolation and mitigate the risk of spreading infections from one patient to another.

The new unit includes ten en-suite inpatient rooms, one outpatient review room, a rehabilitation room and other support service areas.
