Canberra Hospital in the capital territory in Australia has opened a new speciality clinic to treat patients with facial injuries or illnesses.

The clinic will benefit more than 1,000 patients annually, and save theatre time and hospital money by improving access and allowing for faster treatment.

The new facility will be used to move patients from general anaesthetic theatres into the clinic for surgical procedures, and will allow staff better access to treat their patients quickly and conveniently.

In the past, patients have had to travel to Sydney for major jaw and mouth surgery.
