Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) in Canada has scored better than the provincial average wait time for practices in general surgery, cancer surgery, and hip and knee replacements, according to the latest figures.

The report, covering the time period from April to September, shows the number of days PRHC takes 90% of patients to have surgeries such as hip and knee replacements.

PRHC has shortened wait times for general surgery by about 40 days, knee replacements by 60 days, hip replacements by 70 days and cancer surgery by 54 days from the provincial average, according to thepeterboroughexaminer.com.

PRHC has cut down wait times through new and improved equipment, and wait time funding.
