Kuwait to Begin Major Hospital Development

Kuwait will build a hospital with over 1,000 beds at a cost of US$1bn (KWD304m) in the Surra district of Kuwait City. The Jaber al Ahmed al Sabah Hospital, expected to be complete in 2012, will offer diagnostic, outpatient, dental, trauma centre and casualty services, according to MEED.

The Jaber al Ahmed al Sabah Hospital, expected to be complete in 2012, will offer diagnostic, outpatient, dental, trauma centre and casualty services, according to MEED.

The 270,000m² hospital will also offer obstetrics, gynaecology and inpatient care services and offer VIP suites to accommodate visiting heads of state.

Expected to be the largest building project in Kuwait, the hospital will have a car parking area for 7,000 cars and a 2,000m² C4 shelter.
