Southcoast Hospitals has broken ground on a new cancer care facility Southcoast Center for Cancer Care in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, US, to offer advanced cancer services to residents of the South Coast region.

The $60m cancer centre will ensure coordinated, high-quality, streamlined care for cancer patients and their families, according to Southcoast Health System.

The cancer centre, expected to open in early 2011, will offer state-of-the-art radiation therapy and medical oncology such as chemotherapy under one roof.
