The UK’s NHS has launched an investigation into hospital theft after 57 claims each worth more than £20,000 ($32,420) were reported over the past five years.

Items stolen include ambulance satellite navigation systems, patients’ belongings and hospital equipment and laptops.

In the past year, laptops containing data from 20,000 patients were stolen from London’s St George’s Hospital.
