US firm Capsule said it has added 70 medical devices to its connectivity list, covering 500 hospitals across the country.
The medical device connectivity provider can now connect to 450 devices, and has added Stryker's InTouch Bed and Somanetics' INVOS Cerebral monitor in the last six months.
Capsule can now connect to over 97% of patient monitors, over 98% of all ventilators and IV pumps, and over 94% of all pulse oximeters as well as spot check monitors and anaesthesia machines.
Capsule's Food and Drug Administration-cleared plug and play connectivity solution features a DataCaptor Device ID Module (DIM) enabling auto-detection and configuration of the device by transmitting data automatically to the server.
The DIM frees hospital staff from the tedious task of configuring devices and interfaces, allowing clinicians to focus on the care of their patients.
