The construction of STMN’s new multi-speciality hospital, to be built at a cost of Rs400 crore ($86m), has begun in East Sikkim, India.
The facility will open with 575 beds and 18 departments and may be expanded to a 1,000-bed hospital in the future.
The hospital is expected to be complete by March 2013.
Another 20-bed trauma centre will be constructed at the existing STNM complex until the new hospital is ready, with facilities such as a yoga and meditation centre, according to voiceofsikkim.com.
