Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, UK is planning to save £37m ($55m) over the coming three years by achieving efficiencies while maintaining high-quality care.

Concerning about patient services, the hospital has suggested staff work with teams throughout the hospital to improve services and reduce costs.

Staff employed will work in the hospital as usual, and there are no plans to cut staff, according to the BBC.

Public service union Unison's regional organiser for the Stroud area Tanya Palmer said that there are a lot of creative ways to work with people, looking at people who want to take career breaks and rearrange working hours.

"But we do need to understand the whole picture and the breakdown and how these savings have come to be so huge. That means trust and confidence on both parts and open sharing of all information," Palmer said.
