Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida, US, has selected Softek Illuminate for instant access to patient data.
The hospital’s radiologists will leverage the technology to access patient histories as well as the entire patient archive for researching conditions specifically found in the hospital’s patient population of US veterans.
Malcom Randall VA Medical Center chief of imaging Dr. David Wymer said that having a patient’s history readily available will help doctors to make the best diagnosis.
"Illuminate will enable us to meet the day-to-day challenges we face in our effort to provide better care and improve outcomes for our veterans," Wymer added.
"We are committed to evaluating and improving care delivery and then publishing our results to help other institutions improve as well."
Radiologists at the medical centre will have immediate access to any study and related images in the entire PACS archive, which will aid research into the disease states of veterans.
Clinical and business practices for radiology and pathology can be improved using Illuminate’s search, data aggregation and notification applications.
Softek CEO Matt McLenon said, "Softek is committed to moving healthcare IT forward with innovations that provide access to the mountain of information stored in the EMR and truly improve patient care."
