Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, Minnesota, US, has installed Toshiba America Medical Systems’ scalable 16-channel Vantage Titan 1.5T system to expand its clinical capabilities and improve patient comfort.
The hospital will leverage the Toshiba platform for general MR exams, breast and cardiac imaging, and prostate imaging.
Fairview Health Services radiology director Judy Sager said Toshiba’s 16-channel Titan 1.5T system will allow the hospital to offer additional services to its patients and expand its imaging operations.
"For instance, we plan to utilise the system to visualise CSF bulk flow without contrast to improve diagnoses of CSF disorders non-invasively," Sager added.
The 16-channel Titan 1.5T, which features a 71cm bore and feet first exams to reduce claustrophobia, is designed to facilitate faster examinations and improved patient satisfaction.
Other features include Pianissimo noise-reduction technology, integrated coils, advanced non-contrast imaging and intuitive M-Power user interface.
Toshiba MR business unit director Stuart Clarkson said, "The 1.5T MR series offers hospitals like Fairview the option to invest in a scalable MR system that meets their clinical needs today, with the opportunity to easily upgrade as their needs change in the future."
A Toshiba Aquilion ONE dynamic volume CT and a previous version of the Vantage Titan 1.5T MR are also used at the hospital.
