Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, New Jersey, US, will integrate Hyland Software’s OnBase Online cloud enterprise content management (ECM) solution with its Allscripts Sunrise electronic medical record (EMR).
The ECM technology is expected to help the hospital to streamline processes, minimise paper and offer improved patient care.
The 549-bed Trinitas hospital will employ Hyland’s medical records manager (MRM) technology to mechanise access to patient records and deficiency management processes within its Allscripts EMR.
Trinitas Regional Medical Center information technology vice president and chief information officer Judy Comitto said the hospital was looking for a solution that would complement its Sunrise EMR and help it reach its goal of becoming a paperless facility.
"By integrating our EMR with the OnBase MRM solution we will have access to all patient information – creating a complete patient file," Comitto added.
The medical centre will also minimise cycle times and cut costs associated with processing patient charts thorough integration.
Hyland Software healthcare solutions manager Dan West said, "The MRM solution is a secure resource that allows multiple users to instantly access health information, streamlining processes involved in preparing a patient’s chart for processing."
Trinitas is also considering expanding the solution to its admitting, finance and business departments to improve efficiency, according to Hyland Software.
