New York-based Rochester General Health System (RGHS) has selected Lexmark’s Perceptive Software, creator of process and content management products and solutions, to replace the existing enterprise content management (ECM) in its hospitals, ambulatory clinics and physician offices.
The health system will deploy Perceptive Software’s Perceptive Content and Perceptive Capture solutions at Rochester General Hospital and Newark Wayne Community Hospital, as well as 92 ambulatory clinics and physician offices.
RGHS will integrate Perceptive Software with the organisation’s Epic EMR.
The integration with Epic will complement the paperless medical record by delivering all patient content within the context of the EMR.
Perceptive Software healthcare solutions complete the EMR by delivering all patient content within the context of the EMR, resulting in a comprehensive patient record that helps healthcare professionals to make better clinical, financial and operational decisions.
The integration includes areas like patient financial services, scheduling, registration and HIM (health information management).
RGHS chief information officer Chris Teumer said the hospital chose to partner with Perceptive Software because it believes the company’s vision, technology and collaborative approach will help it achieve its business and clinical goals.
"Perceptive’s integrated platform, workflow engine and user interface will allow clinicians and other users to seamlessly manage, locate and view documents within the EMR and our enterprise applications," Teumer added.
RGHS will also utilise Perceptive Capture to support back-office processes like accounts payable, purchasing, finance and human resources.
RGHS is comprised of eight clinically integrated affiliates delivering comprehensive healthcare services. It has earned national recognition for excellence in a variety of clinical specialities.
