Winthrop-University Hospital, a 591-bed teaching hospital located in Mineola, New York, has selected JACO’s new UltraLite 300 series with Power Blade hot swappable power mobile cart technology.
This hot swappable system enables 24/7 runtime, optimised cart usage and an uninterrupted workflow during nursing shifts of any length.
The UltraLite 300 series, which features a lightweight design with a starting weight of just over 50lbs, offers nimble and agile bedside mobility.
The lightweight aluminum design provides a minimalist footprint and slim line features without sacrificing stability.
JACO’s Power Blade technology is fueled by lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) based battery chemistry.
The technology also offers a mobile cart fleet management and monitoring system.
According to the company, the core of all JACO UltraLite series mobile carts is their stylish, elegant and durable design.
JACO founder and executive vice president of new business development Fred Rossini said that the company set out to design a new cart line that would tip the scales the other way from the existing heavy powered mobile carts on the market.
"We wanted to give nurses what they’d been clamoring for, a lightweight solution that would lessen their workload and would fit comfortably bedside," Rossini added.
Delivered in a hot swappable setup, Power Blade is also furnished with rapid recharging stations that can be located virtually anywhere due to its 4in depth which meets hallway code standards and its UL60601 patient proximity electrical certification.
Winthrop-University Hospital’s rollout of its new mobile cart fleet will occur throughout the remainder of this year and will be completed in 2014.
Winthrop-University Hospital is a New York state-designated regional trauma centre that offers diagnostic and therapeutic care in virtually every speciality and subspeciality of medicine and surgery.
The hospital employs 6,000 healthcare professionals, including approximately 1,500 nurses and 1,525 full-time and voluntary medical staff.
