Aspire Hospital, a physician-owned hospital in Conroe, Texas, has selected integrated clinical and financial applications from Healthcare Management Systems (HMS) and the highly intuitive, integrated Physician Documentation application from Patient Logic.
As part of the agreement, the HMS enterprise EHR and Physician Documentation application will be hosted by HMS Direct, the wholly-owned HMS subsidiary that hosts and manages HMS applications.

The HMS product suite not only supports improved clinical operations, financial performance and patient care, but also helps meet meaningful use and healthcare reform requirements.
HMS Direct facilitates quicker implementation, reduces upfront capital costs and optimises utilisation of the hospital’s IT staff, since all backups and maintenance issues are handled by HMS staff.
Aspire Hospital CEO Brian Neal said while the main objective of the hospital was finding an enterprise solution, it sought a partner that would help it seamlessly transition to electronic health records and more automated clinical and billing processes without any major interruptions in its business.

Aspire Hospital, which is located approximately 40 miles north of Houston, offers specialty services, including diagnostic imaging, comprehensive oncology and adult behavioural health.
The hospital is currently expanding to add an ambulatory sleep centre to its service lines, and also advancing its imaging and oncology services.
HMS president Steve Starkey said maintaining the information technology needed to provide excellent care and meet regulatory standards in the evolving healthcare environment is a burgeoning challenge for many hospital leaders.
