Boston Scientific Corporation has initiated patient enrolment for the clinical trial of its Vercise deep brain stimulation system, which is used for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.

The Vercise system is designed to deliver pulses of electricity along the nerves through the spinal cord to specific areas within the brain.

The prospective multi-centre trial is designed to evaluate the improvement in motor function in 40 European patients implanted with the Vercise system for Parkinson’s disease treatment.
