LHP Hospital Group and the Seton Family of Hospitals have entered into a joint venture to construct Seton Medical Center Harker Heights in Texas, US.

The $100m, 180,400ft², 83-bed hospital will be located in Bell County.

Groundbreaking is scheduled for the first quarter of 2011, with the hospital expected to open in the third quarter of 2012.

LHP CEO Dan Moen said the company is proud to join Seton in building the new hospital to serve the health care needs of Bell County and the surrounding area.

“The hospital will feature a full-service emergency department plus acute-care services, including women’s services, obstetrics, cardiology, surgery, oncology, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, imaging and diagnostic services, general medical and surgical services, and intensive and critical care,” Moen added.

The hospital campus will include a 60,000ft² medical office building, which will provide various services such as family practice, internal medicine, cardiology, general surgery, orthopaedic surgery, neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynaecology.
