Ansell has acquired Sandel Medical Industries, an innovator in surgical safety solutions, for $13.5m.
The purchase agreement includes sales and growth-based earn-outs over the next five years.
The acquisition allows Ansell to offer hospitals and ambulatory surgery centres cost-effective solutions to improve the safety of patients and staff.
The Sandel product range covers sharps safety, ergonomic safety, medication handling and specimen handling, safety kits and safety products, and correct site markers for patients.
Ansell will continue the Sandel business under the name Ansell Sandel Medical Solutions.
