U-Systems has completed the first Canadian installation of its somo*v automated breast ultrasound system at VIP Breast Imaging in Toronto, Canada.
The device uses proprietary technology to automate the breast ultrasound imaging process.

The somo*viewer 3D workstation enables fast review and archive of patient exams, optimising breast ultrasound screening workflow.
VIP Breast Imaging founder and president Tina Ureten said that somo*v has been proven effective in women with dense breast tissue who have an increased risk of breast cancer.
“Even for women who do not have dense breast tissue, [the system] provides a safe, non-ionising breast screening option,” Ureten said.
The somo*v is the only ultrasound device approved for breast cancer screening in the EU, and it has been cleared for adjunctive diagnostic use with mammography in the US.
