Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare has announced the design and construction firms that it will contract to build the Olive Branch Hospital in Mississippi, US.

Gresham, Smith and Partners, Smith Seckman Reid and Turner Construction Company have been selected as an integrated project delivery team for the design and construction of the new 100-bed hospital.

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare senior vice-president David Baytos said that the construction of the facility will provide social, economic and sustainable benefits for the Olive Branch community for the years to come.

SSR will provide the engineering design, medical communication system planning, commissioning and LEED facilitation services, while Turner Construction oversees construction management services for the project.

The three companies recently worked together to design and build a 550,000ft², 286-bed replacement hospital at the Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro, US.

Groundbreaking for the new hospital will take place on 19 October 2011.
