Centre Hospitalier de Chaumont in France has deployed Masimo Patient SafetyNet, a remote monitoring system designed to help hospitals avoid preventable patient deaths associated with ‘failure to rescue’ events.

The system features a non-invasive patient sensor and a bedside patient monitor that captures vital physiological measurements, such as total haemoglobin, oxygen content, carboxyhaemoglobin, methemoglobin and Pleth Variability Index.

SafetyNet measures and tracks the underlying physiological condition of patients to detect real-time changes and abnormalities that signal declining health status.

The system automatically sends wireless alerts directly to the pager or smartphone of assigned clinicians, prompting an immediate response at the patient’s bedside.
