Atlanta-based Gwinnett Medical Center (GMC), US, is to employ a handheld Care Team Communications system in its emergency department to improve patient care.

Developed by InfoLogix, the communications system provides frontline caregivers with immediate access to critical information and other staff through instantaneous voice, messaging and alert communications throughout the emergency department.

InfoLogix had conducted a wireless infrastructure assessment for 45 days to determine the technical and workflow requirements and developed a comprehensive, mobile operation strategy for the department.

InfoLogix is planning to develop the design for a mobile solution for Gwinnett’s new 150-bed patient tower this year.
