GE Healthcare and Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP) have teamed up to launch a research and development programme for the early detection of breast cancer.
The programme aims to develop cutting-edge technologies in digital X-ray mammography for better screening and diagnosis of breast cancer.
GE Healthcare will establish a new breast cancer team at QSTP in Doha, which will identify and validate advanced mammography technologies, develop new software interfaces and conduct clinical trials.
Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths globally, according to the World Health Organization.
