A new RFID technology has been developed to allow patients with heart problems to move freely in hospitals while having their cardiac telemetry devices constantly monitored by hospital staff.

A small tag is attached to the cardiac telemetry device which allows hospital staff to track the patient while also ensuring the patient’s freedom of movement.

The highly fragile tags cost $3,000 on average.

The technology has been developed by RadarFind, a developer of real-time location systems for hospitals.
