A new cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) scanner featuring Alcyone Technology has been introduced in four healthcare institutions for practising nuclear cardiology.
The design of the Discovery NM 530c nuclear cardiology camera is based on Alcyone Technology which combines CZT detectors, focused pin-hole collimation, stationary data acquisition and 3D reconstruction.
It enhances workflow, dose management and overall quality of the image, says the product’s manufacturer GE Healthcare.
The system has been installed at Mt Sinai Medical Center in the US, Ottawa Heart Institute in Canada, University Hospital in Switzerland and Gabriele Monasterio Foundation in Italy.
