Video games are increasingly being used to treat patients with brain injuries, strokes, spinal cord injuries and muscular-skeletal disorders, US researchers have revealed.

Researchers at the Games for Health conference in Boston, US said that games help in healing patients physically and mentally and the socialisation offered by video games helps speed up recovery.

Boston’s Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and New York-Presbyterian Hospital have already adopted video game systems such as the Nintendo Wii to help rehabilitate patients, the Boston Globe reports.
