The Northwest Medical System in the US will invest $20m on renovation, equipment and software to build the Heart Hospital Network, a system aimed at improving the quality of cardiac care in the region.

The aim of the system is to give residents in the Arkansas-Oklahoma-Missouri area quick access to state-of-the-art cardiovascular service without having to travel to large cities, officials from the hospital said.

The new system will be deployed in the Springdale and Bentonville hospitals as well as the Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital, nwaonline.net reports.
