The Kuwait Ministry of Health has assigned KD508,000 to equip its Infectious Diseases Hospital with medical equipment and medicine as a precaution against the spread of the influenza A H1N1 virus.
Of this, KD250,000 has been allocated for medical equipment and laboratory tests to prepare for the H1N1 virus and other infectious diseases, according to a report in the Kuwait Times.
A further KD168,000 for antiviral drugs and special equipment will be used to diagnose infection in children, government officials said.
The remaining amount will be used for the purchase of advanced laboratory equipment that will help detect infectious diseases, the Kuwait Times reports.
