US Beloit Memorial Hospital will deploy a new digital radiographic system for its expanded emergency department to deliver better quality of care to patients.

General Electric Company’s Optima XR640 digital system captures X-ray images on computers rather than film, enabling quicker and superior quality images with radiation dose efficiency, the company said.

The machines will help with meeting the emergency department’s increased capacity demands, hospital authorities said.

The new system allows the technologist to pre-programme up to 40 exam positions at once.
