US healthcare organisation Ochsner Health System will implement a new telestroke and telehealth service to improve stroke care in urban and rural areas across Louisiana.
REACH Call’s telemedicine service will be installed in the main campus Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, which will act as a hub connecting to five community hospitals.
The new telestroke system will enable multiple stroke neurologists at the main campus to provide consulting services to other smaller linked hospitals for remote stroke evaluation, Ochsner said.
Ochsner Health System is a non-profit, multi-speciality healthcare organisation and includes seven hospitals and more than 35 health centres across southeast Louisiana.
